Uncle Pan's Favorite Preinternet Sex Fantasies
Written by Uncle Pan
The sixties marked the true renaissance of the body and the spirit. The book Catch 22 revealed the lie that was our naive faith in the rightness of our politicians and the infallibility of our military. The Beatles blew the Glenn Millers, Harry James and Frank Sinatra's of popular music completely out of the ball park, and then they went on to show a wide-eyed generation that sex was fun and natural (Why Don't We Do It in the Road?) and that it was alright to grow your hair long and sport facial hair, and most important, it was alright to find and BE yourself.
A nudist magazine called Sunshine and Health was reponsible for the removal of the dreaded airbrush in photographs that for the first time allowed genitals to appear as God created them. Grove Press deserves a lot of credit for helping open up the field of literature with the publication of previously banned works by James Joyce, D. H. Laurence, the novels of Henry Miller and even Victorian classics such as My Secret Life. Nancy Friday books The Secret Garden and Forbidden Flowers introduced the sexual fantasy into the mainstream of literature, making for the first time such writings a legitimate subject for publication.
"Sexual mores and practices have shown an age-old resistance to change. Today, there is hardly any part of human behavior we are more willing to question and alter. The acceptance of new ideas of what is sexually okay is now so immediate, you'd think that entire generations had been holding their breath Ñ people being born, living and dying, yet never daring to explore their own sexuality, afraid that only he/she was aberrant and everyone else was 'normal.' Then, suddenly, The Word is out: without seeming to pause for even a sigh of relief, everybody knows without further discussion that it is not only okay, but that it has always been okay." Ñ Excerpt from Forbidden Flowers
Magazines dealing with sex like Penthouse, Oui, and particularly Response bloomed like bluebonnets in a Texas spring, and many got bought for primarily their letters which were mostly from ordinary people and served as fuel for our fantasies. Sex sells big, and many of the so-called Letters Magazines were run by organized crime, and being the cunning criminals that they were they would crudely change the ages of the subject of the letter to at least eighteen so as to not to arouse the meddling authorities. This was a sure fire fantasy killer of the first degree. Of the magazines I read at the time, only Response seemed to print word for word exactly what the letter writer wrote, no matter how off the wall it was. Which made their magazine by far the most interesting, for their editors seemed to have left the door completely open to all bents and twists.
If you stop and think about it, magazines like Response predated the electronic bulletin boards, which in turned spawned newsgroups which have evolved into websites like our beloved mrdouble.com. Individuals were suddenly empowered with the tools to share their fantasies and sexual experiences with others. There was no guile involved in the process, only a pure and charmingly naive desire to share their joy and wonderment. The language was not sophisticated, but it was straight forward and to the point. And for the times it did the job. And the letters I print here cover a complete range of emotions, they are erotic, they are funny, and they are both touchingly naive and terribly wise, in some cases simultaneously.
Uncle Pan is, if anything, a collector. My collection is not extensive, it has been casually assembled through a desure to retain that which was meaningful to me. But I brought myself to many a resounding climax reading the words which follow and which created unforgettably erotic mental pictures.
¦ High on Unky's list of favorites are the two previously mentioned books by Nancy Friday. Both consisted of letters of experiences and fantasies sent to her by women of all ages. I particularly loved the following gem from Forbidden Flowers:
I am young (fifteen) and a virgin. I have met many boys I like, but I never had sexual relations with any of them, as far as going all the way is concerned. The reason for this, I think, is that I am very shy and I worry that boys are going to tell other boys what we do. I am an A-student in school and am very popular, and I don't want to do anything to spoil that, but if the truth be told I have a strong drive to make love ...
When I was little my cousin (a male) lived beside me. One day he told me he would take over my checkups himself, so that I wouldn't have to go to my doctor for checkups. I agreed because I really hated going to the doctor. Then he undressed me and had me lie down on the bed, after which he did everything to me he could possibly think of. He opened the lips of my pussy and felt and sucked and licked them, and then he took off all of his clothes, and had me do the same to him.
At one point he put an ice cube against my pussy, which drove me crazy. After that I told him I had to use the bathroom, so he stood me up in the tub and then he got down on his knees and put his mouth over my pussy, and he had me use the bathroom in his mouth. This delighted me more than anything I'd ever had happen to me before. We did this many times up until I was eight. The first time we did it, I was four, he was seven. sis
