This year is no exception: on July 4th a lot of people gathers on the beach. Everyone looks for a cosy place in the dunes, and immediately the barbecues are established.

All the families are there complete as usual. There is always a big hello when the families meet and exchange greetings.

A speciality of this little town is, that almost every young girl and woman is in different stages of pregnancy like every year. It's sure that nine of ten new-borns will be female. The reason for this extraordinary fertility must be the in water or the soil...

Family Becker comes this year with their five- and eight-years-old girls and even her twelve-years-old high pregnant daughter Katrin, almost due to delivery.

The Steiner's come along with grandpa and four kids. The boy, Stefan, is eight, the girls Lisa 6, Bettina, 5 and Tanja, 3.

The weather is wonderful again, so everyone immediately changes into swim wear, the children and rush into the waves of the shallow beach. There's a lot of happy shouting and screaming from the swimming and playing children all along the barbecue area..

As noon approaches, the families decide, what's on the menu for this summer. Daddy Steiner thoughtfully looks over to the big sandcastle, where his kids are busy. All of them have simply discarded their wet swim suits after returning from the waves and play naked in the warm sand. Dad exchanges a knowing look with Ma Doris Steiner.

"Betty", a short disbelieving look from the five-years-old girl, just a tiny hesitation, because she was so intensely engaged in her sandcastle, but then a scream of joy!
