A Nanny's Dirty Chores
Written by H. Grant
Lately however, work for nannies was slow. More and more parents were enrolling their children in daycare centers and hardly any were looking for "stay at home" nannies like herself. Hillery had once pondered working for a daycare center, but soon realized her limits in terms of how much stress she could take. She realized that she disliked babysitting large groups of children - particularly in a closed setting such as a small or medium sized nursery room. There was just too much watching that needed to be done at all times. In addition, daycare centers tended to be frequently understaffed, which led to a series of problems unto themselves. Now out of work (save for the spam mail job she had at home), Hillery was desperate not only for additional income, but to watch over children again. She missed being hugged and adored by little kids. She missed their soft skin when she bathed them, their wet kisses, and the way they smelled. Although she didn't like to admit it to herself, there was something about the smell of children - particularly toddlers that she found slightly erotic. The innocence of such young bodies often brought her back to an earlier time in her life when she was little and it made her feel warm inside (not to mention slightly aroused).
When she made the call, she was greeted by an extremely cheerful mother. Her name was Mrs. Clennen and she had two small daughters identical in age and appearence. Both were 22 months old and closing in on the "terrible two" faze of their young childhood. During the course of her initial conversation with the young mother, Hillery learned that the Clennens were not well off and could not afford to place their twins in a daycare center. They lived on the poor side of town and had barely managed to scrape the money together to place the "help wanted" ad in the local newspaper. Mr. Clennen was a waiter at a cheap hotel restourant and Mrs. Clennen revealed that she was commuting 2 hours each way to work as a staffing specialist in a human resource department. The car payments were high, and they barely had enough money to cover the cost of the house mortgage. They had only planned to have one child, but wound up having twins. Such was their luck when Hillery made the call to apply for the nanny position. Hillery's credentials spoke for themselves, and she had no trouble pursuading the Clennens to give her the job.
